Voting Now Open for DaVinci Roofscapes® "Shake it Up" Exterior Color Contest
KANSAS CITY, KAN. - Public online voting is now available for the DaVinci Roofscapes® "Shake it Up" Exterior Color Contest. From May 13 - 26, 2013 people are encouraged to visit the DaVinci Facebook page at http://on.fb.me/10LLET8 to select from one of five finalists in the contest. The winner, which will be announced on June 2, 2013, will receive a $5,000 cash grand prize to help add color to the exterior of his or her home.
Led by national color expert Kate Smith, judges evaluated more than 170 contest entries from homeowners across the country wanting to "shake up" the exterior of their homes with color. The five finalists, who will each receive a professionally-created color rendering and product wish list of how they can transform their home's exteriors by adding colorful products to their home, include:
- Philip Atkins of Lima, Ohio with "The Little Aberdeen Cottage that Could"
- Marquis Cayce of Nashville, Tenn. with "The Little Home that had a Dream to be in Color"
- Dennis Hodkinson of Paris, Tenn. with "Facelift Needed"
- Holly Ludwig Roark of Owensboro, Ky. with "My OLD Kentucky Home"
- Russ Wade of Hoover, Ala. with "Shake Me Out of My Comfort Zone"
"Judging was an intense process because there were so many houses that qualify as needing color exterior assistance," says Smith, president and chief color maven of Sensational Color. "The homes of the five finalists can all benefit from a colorful exterior makeover.
"There is a finalist's home that's more than 100 years old with a boring black and white exterior. Another home is bogged down in neutral tones because the owner was afraid to put the wrong color on his house. Then, there are the homeowners that indicated they needed a rainbow to touch their house to add color. Now all these finalists will have the 'blueprint' to transform their homes with colorful products and ideas."
Now that the finalists have been selected, their "before" house image along with the artist's rendering of what the home could look like, are all posted on the DaVinci Facebook contest page at http://on.fb.me/10LLET8. From May 13 – 26, people can visit the site and cast their vote for the grand prize winner. The finalist generating the most online votes will receive the $5,000 cash grand prize.
The artist renderings of the finalist's homes showcase a variety of color hues recommended by Smith along with colorful polymer Slate and Shake roofs from contest sponsor, DaVinci Roofscapes. Additional colorful products from the product partners of the contest (including Fypon urethane millwork, Therma-Tru entry doors and Simonton windows) are also specified on the renderings. The combination of the products and color expertise of Smith showcase how each home can be transformed.
The "Shake it Up" Exterior Color Contest grand prize winner will be announced on June 3, 2013. For more information, along with complete rules and regulations regarding the contest, visit http://on.fb.me/10LLET8.
