Choosing A Color For Your Roof Can Be As Easy as 1, 2, 3

Here are three simple rules to get you started:

1. The easiest way is to use a great neutral or neutral color blend. Just remember to go darker rather than lighter. A neutral roof works well for just about every home color or style.

2. Another general rule of thumb is to choose a roof that is the same”temperature” as your siding– warm roof colors work with warm siding colors, cool roof colors with cool siding colors.

3. You don’t usually want to match the roof color to the siding color exactly.  Instead find a shake or slate in the same color family as your siding color but one that is darker than your siding color.
