Choosing A Color For Your Roof Can Be As Easy as 1, 2, 3
Your roof is a significant element of your home’s overall design so it is important that you chose a composite slate or shake roof in a color that works well with the style and color of your exterior. If you are like many homeowners you might not know where to begin when making this important decision.
Here are three simple rules to get you started:
1. The easiest way is to use a great neutral or neutral color blend. Just remember to go darker rather than lighter. A neutral roof works well for just about every home color or style.
A cool blue home could be topped off with Castle Gray Synthetic Slate Tiles.
2. Another general rule of thumb is to choose a roof that is the same”temperature” as your siding– warm roof colors work with warm siding colors, cool roof colors with cool siding colors.
The warm golden paint, cream trim and coppery red accent color come alive
with Autumn blend composite shakes.
3. You don’t usually want to match the roof color to the siding color exactly. Instead find a shake or slate in the same color family as your siding color but one that is darker than your siding color.
A medium gray home is a natural match for the dark Slate Gray synthetic slate.
It is as easy as that to get started. Once you have an idea of what you are looking for go to the DaVinci Color Designer to select the specific color or color blend that is right for your home color.
