What Shingle Color Will Compliment My Chicago Brick?

What color architectural shingle would best compliment the old Chicago brick colors on my home?

Hello Keturah,

You haven’t given me too much to go on but based on the photo of your bricks and what I know about Old Chicago brick I’m making these recommendations.

Old Chicago brick colors generally are in the red or brown family. Yours look to be more red but also have charcoal gray or black accents. With that combination I think a dark roof could be a nice choice.

In the shake Abruzzo is a dark gray/brown. If that dark color in your roof leans towards brown this could be a great choice that harmonizes perfectly with the brick.

If the dark accents are truly more charcoal or black then you could go with Slate Gray or Slate Black to give you home a classic look.
