Shake Roofing Tiles Loved by Miami Dade

KANSAS CITY, KAN. – After passing a multitude of testing conducted by PRI Construction Materials Technologies, LLC, Fancy Shake synthetic roofing tiles by DaVinci Roofscapes® have achieved Miami Dade County Acceptance. Testing results show that the synthetic cedar shake roofing tiles can withstand high velocity hurricane winds, accelerated weathering and fire resistance as dictated by the stringent Miami Dade County codes.

“To gain Miami Dade County approval, a product must pass high wind testing, tensile testing before and after accelerated weathering and small scale fire testing,” says Brad Grzybowski, director of PRI Construction Materials Technologies, LLC. “The Fancy Shake roofing tiles passed all of these tests with flying colors and can now be considered approved for use in all areas requiring the stringent Miami Dade County approvals.”

Introduced in 2008, Fancy Shake roofing tiles offer a machine-sawn cedar look, providing a more refined appearance than a traditional hand-split cedar shingle. A pristine roofing tile with a clean, subtle grain, DaVinci’s Fancy Shake is available in four unique color blends — Autumn, Mountain, Tahoe and Weathered Gray. The color runs throughout each tile for a naturally authentic appearance all year long and every tile is embedded with state-of-the-art UV stabilizers and backed by a comprehensive 50-year warranty.

“Every product we have introduced during our 10-year history has been designed to meet the high standards of the Miami Dade County codes,” says Ray Rosewall, president and CEO of DaVinci Roofscapes. “The passing of this testing for our newly-introduced Fancy Shake product shows once again that our proven engineering polymer formula results in a quality product that is exceptionally durable.”

The virtually maintenance-free Fancy Shake tiles are fire retardant (with a Class A fire rating) and come in three widths (five-, seven- and 12-inch). Tile widths are pre-collated at the factory, creating a distinctive and varied pattern when installed. The 18-inch long tiles have achieved the highest ratings for straight-line wind testing at 110 mph and Class 4 impact testing ratings. Fancy Shake roofing tiles have been approved by the Florida Building Code which is a prerequisite for Miami Dade acceptance.

DaVinci Roofscapes has manufactured award-winning synthetic slate and shake roofing since 1999. The polymer roofing tiles are virtually maintenance free and far more cost effective than the natural product. DaVinci leads the industry in tile thickness, the tile width variety and the greatest selection of subtle earth-toned colors. For additional information call 1-800-328-4624 or visit our website.
