Featured Project – Denver, CO

In the last couple of years, many homeowners have come to the realization that the products they once used on the exterior of their homes, just aren’t feasible anymore. In the case of natural cedar shake, many communities, and even entire states, have outlawed them due to them being a fire hazard. With fire hazard probably being the #1 reason folks in the West are looking for alternatives, the fact that they aren’t impact resistant, don’t hold up well in climates with a lot of freeze/thaw, and have all sorts of problems due to mold and algae growth, are all also factors.

The owners of this house tore off their cedar shakes and had Excel Roofing, also out of Denver, install a new Bellaforté Shake tile roof in the Tahoe blend. They also installed pad style snow guards, as our installation instructions recommend in high snow areas like Denver, in order to protect their walkways, gutters, and shrubbery from sliding snow this winter.
