Featured Project – Hayden, ID
Cedar shakes are a traditional look in the west, for both roofing and siding. In recent years, the use of natural cedar shakes has gone down due to availability and performance issues. In neighborhoods with a lot of trees, the shift towards a polymer cedar shake roof makes sense given the surroundings. Polymer shake roofs, like Bellaforté Shake featured here, are fire and impact resistant, harmonize with the natural surroundings, and won’t grow mold or algae.
This project was shared to us by Granite Roofing in Radthdrum, ID. I like these photos because they show the Bellaforté Shake used as both the roofing material as well as the siding on the dormers.
