Polymer Tiles Selected for Roof and Siding of Tower Bank Locations
KANSAS CITY, KAN. – The leadership group at Tower Bank in Indiana has seen rapid expansion since starting their bank in 1999. Not surprisingly, this forward-thinking team was excited about the new bank designs created by architects that called for low-maintenance DaVinci Roofscapes® tiles to be used on both the roof and the siding of several of their new branch locations.
“The eye-catching appeal of our locations helps set us apart in the marketplace,” says Julie Bobay, facilities coordinator for Tower Bank & Trust Company, based in Fort Wayne, Ind. “We’re very pleased with the elegant, welcoming look of our locations. The use of low-maintenance polymer roofing tiles, brick and composite features make our banking facilities showpieces in the community.”
Tower Bank has provided multiple architectural firms the opportunity to bid on their ongoing projects. The current architect, Amie Lindsay, RA, with Delineation, has continued to specify DaVinci multi-width Slate Aberdeen product at the Fort Wayne Tower Bank location. This models the bank’s current design recently constructed in 2010 with DaVinci products. Featuring a combination of five colors (dark gray, light brown, dark purple, green stone and dark stone), the Aberdeen blend complements the overall design of the bank exterior.
“When it came time to select products for the rest of the exterior, we found the idea appealing of bringing some of the roof colors and tiles down onto the sides of the building,” says Lindsay, architect and owner of the Fort Wayne-based Delineation architectural firm. “We selected a mixture of the dark stone and green stone colors to drop down under the soffit and extend about three feet around the building. After that we added white trim to separate the brick wainscot application on the rest of the structure. To further accent the structure we specified the roofing tile added between the windows on the bank.
“The continuous use of DaVinci roofing tiles around the top perimeter of the building allowed us to design a structure that was both beautiful and easy to maintain. We’re pleased that Tower Bank liked the initial design so much that they have chosen to incorporate it into additional locations throughout Fort Wayne.”
Delineation met a primary goal for the bank’s exterior design of being easy-to-maintain by incorporating composite trim and polyurethane balustrade systems and columns into the structure. “We started off working from the top down, with the roof specifications and continued the product as a siding feature,” says Lindsay. “The impressive DaVinci tiles resist insects, fungus, algae, mold, cracking, fading and curling. Add to that the product’s 50-year limited warranty and you have a bank roof that is not only beautiful but long-lasting.”
Established in 1999 to meet the needs of businesses and individuals looking to make the most of their resources, Tower Bank is the only publicly-held bank headquartered in Fort Wayne, Ind. The bank operates six full-service locations in Fort Wayne and one in Warsaw, Indiana.
