10 Years = 50 Million Roofing Tiles

DaVinci Roofscapes®, the leader in composite roofing tiles, calculates that the company has manufactured approximately 50 million roofing tiles since their launch in 1999. That’s enough tiles to cover the roofs of 9,000 average sized homes!

“The popularity of synthetic roofing products has grown dramatically in the past decade,” says Ray Rosewall, former president and CEO of DaVinci Roofscapes. “With the elevated interested in long-lasting products that have an environmental appeal, we’ve witnessed an explosion of requests for durable, low-maintenance roofing tiles.”

Made of pure virgin resins and 100 percent recyclable, DaVinci slate and shake roofing tiles are used nationwide on residential, commercial and municipal projects. Their popularity has soared in the marketplace thanks to the tiles’ exceptional resistance to fire spread, impact and all types of weather conditions. Backed by a 50-year warranty, the award-winning slate and shake tiles are virtually maintenance free and far more cost effective than the natural product. DaVinci leads the industry in tile thickness, tile width variety and the greatest selection of subtle earth-toned colors available in synthetic roofing tiles.

“During our company’s 10-year history we’ve introduced slate and shake tiles and different color blends,” says Rosewall. “These have been rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) to reflect sunlight and heat away from the home. According to CRRC, homeowners can recognize an average energy savings ranging from seven to 15 percent of total cooling costs by using a cool roof that helps reduce temperature fluctuations inside the home.”

Moving into the company’s second decade of operations, Rosewall is especially enthusiastic about roofing tiles that can help property owners save on energy costs, improve the comfort of the structure and mitigate global warming.

“A Cool Roof is measured by two properties, solar reflectance and thermal emittance,” says Rosewall. “Both properties are measured from 0 to 1. The higher the value, the cooler the roof. During independent testing, some of our roofing tiles measured in a range of 0.26 to 0.34 for solar reflectance and in the range of 0.67 to 0.72 for thermal emittance. This will help homeowners experience increased energy efficiency in the home.”

To mark the occasion of its 10th anniversary, DaVinci became a corporate sponsor of the non-profit organization, Homes for Our Troops, earlier this year. The company’s products have already been used on a New Jersey home that will qualify for LEED-H Platinum status.

DaVinci proudly makes its products in America and is a member of the National Association of Home Builders, the Cool Roof Rating Council and the U.S. Green Building Council. For additional information call 1-800-328-4624 or visit our website.
