Faux Slate Roof Replaces Hail-Damaged Metal Roof

What can a qualified roofer bring to your home? Expertise. That’s what the Crawfords recently discovered. When the team from Black and White Roofing came to fix a downspout, the roofers recommended a full roof replacement.

“There was definite hail damage to their standing seam metal roof,” says Joe McDevitt with Black and White Roofing. “They truly didn’t know the roof had been damaged. When we saw how bad it was, we started talking to them about a DaVinci Roofscapes roof.”

Our Last RoofFaux Slate

The recommendation for a new roof came as a surprise to the Crawfords. They hadn’t known their metal roof had been damaged by hail.

“It’s amazing how Mother Nature can wreck havoc so easily on a roof,” says Connie Crawford, a resident of Sunrise Beach, Missouri. “Our home is just 15 years old. This is our second roof. We hope it’s our last roof.”

McDevitt suggested a long-term roofing solution to the Crawfords: DaVinci Slate roofing.

Made to authentically replicate real slate, the composite slate roof tiles are impact- and fire-resistant. DaVinci slate tiles also resist high winds, insects, cracking and moss growth. That means Mother Nature can no longer hold the Crawfords at her mercy.

Saving on Insurance

“We looked at other homes with the DaVinci product and were impressed,” says Crawford. “Selecting the Black Slate color for our composite slate roof tiles gives our home an entirely different look.”

Along with a new look, the Crawfords got other good news. This time from their insurance company. Because they chose a fire-resistant slate roof from DaVinci, they’re getting a discount from Progressive® on their yearly homeowners insurance.

“For all their efforts on our behalf, we give Black and White Roofing an A+ rating,” says Crawford. “They’ve given us an authentic-looking slate roof that we love. In addition, we’re certainly going to appreciate all the benefits of the DaVinci product for many years to come.”
