Featured Project – Imitation Slate Shingles for SUNY Canton

One of the SUNY Canton campus dormitories, which houses approximately 850 students, needed a roofing material to replace 352 squares of concrete tile. DaVinci Slate (DaVinci Roofscapes’ flagship synthetic slate roof tiles) in the European blend was chosen by the architect because of the multi-width and multi-color look, its resistance to curling, and the 50-year warranty. With the roof almost vertical and the need to complete the project while the students were away for the summer, Contractor, Mid-State Industries, Ltd stepped up to the challenge. Because our synthetic slate shingles are lightweight and install easily, the material was able to go up quickly before students returned for the fall semester.
