Homeowner Celebrates Fire-Resistant Bellaforté Roof
Some homeowners get so excited about their new DaVinci Roofscapes designer roof that they include pictures of their homes on Facebook. Others feature their home's new luxury roof on their holiday greeting cards. And then there's Dan Baer … who threw a roof party to celebrate his new simulated slate roofing product.
“We hosted a party on our balcony to celebrate our new roof,” says Baer, a homeowner in Yorba Linda, Calif. “I wanted everyone to reach out, touch this roof and see why we’re so excited.
"The DaVinci slate looks like authentic slate but it’s completely man-made. I’m thrilled with the quality of the product, the custom color we selected and the fire-resistancy of this polymer roof.”
Baer had good reason to celebrate when his DaVinci roof was installed in 2011. Just a few years earlier he and his family watched from their back porch as raging wildfire flames came within a half mile of their home.
“More than fifty homes burned in our area during the one fire,” says Baer. “If the winds had been stronger, our home would have been included. Our old shake roof was a tinderbox waiting to ignite. Our new Bellaforté polymer tiles are rated Class A for fire retardance, which gives us tremendous peace-of-mind.”
Both strong and beautiful, the Bellaforté roofing tiles installed on the home are made of a custom blend designed by Baer and his wife, Cynthia. “I selected colors to complement our overall home,” says Baer. “Our custom blend is a mix of light brown, medium brown, medium tan and dark amber. DaVinci used its VariBlend technology to create a continuous variation from tile to tile, which resulted in a beautiful, natural blend.”
