It’s an English cottage. It’s a sprawling southern homestead. It’s both. Topped with synthetic slate roofing materials from DaVinci Roofscapes, the “2017 Inspiration Home” in the November/December 2017 issue of Southern Home magazine brings a sigh of envy to everyone who sees the beautiful rustic creation.
Located in Birmingham, Ala., the expansive stone exterior house features multiple entrances, English-style gardens and several attached garages. A DaVinci Slate roof in Smokey Gray sits atop the flowing structure.
Originally a rambling hodgepodge of dated buildings, the redesigned space now boasts lots of connected rooms and an enviable flow. Thanks to the homeowners’ love for English Country houses, architect Jeff Dungan added in age-old characteristics from weathered stone and half-timbered walls to relaxing outdoors spaces.
