How Cold is Too Cold to Install DaVinci Synthetic Shingles?

With winter around the corner, many roofers and roof owners may be wondering how cold is too cold to install DaVinci synthetic slate roof tiles or our synthetic shake shingles.

DaVinci Synthetic ShinglesDaVinci tiles can be installed in much colder temperatures than other roofing products – our products can usually be installed in temperatures as cold as 20 degrees F. For example, many roofing manufacturers will not allow their products to be installed when the outside temperature is below 40 or 45 degrees F.

When installing our roofing products in colder temperatures, you need to make sure that the shingles have been stored flat and are installed when they are flat. Our unique formula allows our shingles to remain flexible in colder temperatures. Likewise, it’s important that the shingles are laid at a very minimum 3/16”. And if your roofer is using a pneumatic roofing nail gun, the pressure need not be set too high.
