Sock Monkeys, Taters and Severe Storm Awareness

sock monkey graphicMarch is a busy month. There are dozens of specialty celebrations, including fun observances such as Sock Monkey Day on the 7th, American Chocolate Week from the 15-21 and Mad for Plaid Month!

There are also plenty of serious-minded activities in March. For example, the first week is designated as Severe Storm Awareness Week by the National Weather Service, Women in Construction Week and National Write a Letter of Appreciation Week.

At DaVinci Roofscapes, we like to celebrate the third week of March — National Manufacturing Week. Our world-class manufacturing operations are located in Lenexa, Kansas, so we’re proud to boast that all are imitation slate and synthetic shake roofing materials are Made in America.  Our dedication to producing top-quality sustainable roofing has us celebrating all month long — which is great because March is also Employee Spirit Month!

If you’re celebrating this month, remember to stock up on the specialty foods we all love. March 6 is Oreo Cookie Day, the 14th is Potato Chip Day, the 17th is St. Patrick’s Day and during the last week of the month there’s National Chocolate Covered Raisins Day on the 24th, followed by Pecan Day on the 25th and Taters Day on the 31st.

Finally, there’s one celebration we hope you won’t join in on — March 1-7 is National Procrastination Week. Forget about that week. Instead focus on getting your designer roof ready for severe weather that comes each Spring … usually starting when Daylight Savings Time kicks in, which this year is March 8.

What else is March good for? March is Time for Spring Roof Check-Up!
