Architect Specifies Custom-Color Synthetic Slate Roof for Home

Stephen Skinner knows how to set his home design projects apart. Look up and start with a sensational roof. That’s what he did for Sharon DeStefano’s custom home. The Memphis architect began his Mediterranean home design by calling for a massive DaVinci custom-color synthetic slate roof overhead.

“I’m really pleased with previous DaVinci roofing experiences,” says Skinner, AIA/NCARB with UrbanARCH Associates in Tennessee. “This synthetic roofing has a great look. The style is very appropriate for home designs in our area. We have multiple clients, designers and contractors inquire about this composite roofing material.”

The custom-color synthetic roof is the perfect finishing touch to this beautiful home.

The expansive home features a prime roof viewing area. In addition, all around the house, the custom-color synthetic roof tops a beautiful white brick exterior with gray trim.

“The DaVinci Multi-Width Slate product adds to the elegance of the architecture,” says Skinner. “We’re very pleased with the results. I believe the DaVinci roof looks more authentic than other competitor options we’ve used in the past.”

Custom-Made Expertise

Constructed by Bob Higginbotham, the home is just one of three created by the custom builder each year. This one is in his hometown of Olive Branch, Mississippi.

“This is the first time I’ve used DaVinci products on one of my homes,” says Higginbotham. His firm is Southern Builders out of Mississippi. “We feel the synthetic tile roof is a perfect fit for this home. The composite roofing’s style and color selection makes the decision easy. Therefore, I will consider using it again in the future.

“Overall, we’re really pleased with the results. Using this synthetic slate roof sets off the look of the home. It is the perfect match for the style of this custom home.”

With finished landscape architecture work by Camp Creek Landscaping, the exterior of the home is stunning and perfectly complemented with the synthetic slate roof. On the inside, interior designer Jay Johnson has assured the same quality of work.
