Curb Appeal Added with Composite Shake Siding

The Maglio family got a “do over” this past year. After hail damaged their Minnesota home, an insurance adjuster approved new exterior elements. That’s when the homeowners decided to invest in composite shake siding for the front of their house.

“We wanted to improve the overall aesthetics of our home,” says Theo Maglio. “So we changed the entire exterior and moved away from our brown palette. Now the house exterior is brighter. There are crisp tones of grays, blues and white that have increased our curb appeal.”

After white-washing the brick and adding blue vinyl siding near the home’s entrance, the Maglios felt they needed more texture for their exterior. They decided to surround their double-sized garage door with Hand-Split Shake Siding from DaVinci Roofscapes.

Siding Before and After

“The Granite color of the siding was a perfect accent to the white-washed brick,” says Maglio. “The composite cedar shakes look very authentic. Everyone believes they’re real cedar shakes. But, these composite shakes are made to last. They’re also going to resist cracking, fading and rotting, so they’re hassle-free.

“We’re pleased with the way these faux shakes add to the curb appeal of our home. We’re even happier that they’re backed by a Lifetime Limited Material Warranty!”
